REMEMBERANCE

Creating Memories and Continuing Bonds

Often times, when we think of our death, we wonder about the legacy we are leaving. What stories have been told, what beliefs have we passed down to the next generation. We want to know that we are not forgotten. We want to know that we have left a positive impact on the lives of our loved ones.

From the grieving loved one’s point of view, we want to stay connected to our person who has died. We want to continue a relationship. We want to remember grandma’s “famous” recipe or the crazy stories that dad used to tell about the family history.

We often want to remember where we come from and know that we have passed that knowledge down to our kin. Through Raven & Rose Remembrance services, we co-create projects that will help to capture your loved one’s story, so that it may be treasured long after they are gone.

Rememberance Services Include :

  • Life Review

We work together to review and reconstruct your life’s story, resolve difficulties of the past, and help to accept where your life is in the present moment. We can review your life orally and also record it for later review (either audio recordings or written documenting). Depending where you are in the end of life process, this life review can either be really simple or more in-depth based on the energy you have to put in to it. I am here to support you no matter how extensive the life review is.

  • Legacy Projects & Ethical Wills

This can be a creative way to leave a legacy for your loved ones. Perhaps we use treasured items to create a story or art piece to leave behind. This can be simple or extravagant, depending on your desires and ability. We can create journals, picture books, recipe books, or anything you want your family to have. Some folks choose to do an “Ethical Will” where they leave nuggets of wisdom behind for their loved ones to review and cherish.

  • Memorial Arts

After the death has occurred, families and friends may want to memorialize their loved one in creative ways. Perhaps you don’t know what to do with all of mom’s sewing projects or dad’s concert t-shirts. Perhaps there are collections of items that have big sentimental value. We can co-create projects that will help you to honor and remember your loved one’s life.

  • Shrines & Altars

For thousands of years, different cultures around the world have been using Shrines and Altars to remember and honor their loved ones and Ancestors. By creating these Sacred spaces, we are re-making our relationship with our loved ones who have died. I can help you learn how to build a Shrine or Altar and continue to tend to the space, so that you may feel connected to your loved one years after they are gone.
