Planning ahead
Whether you are at the end of life, or you are still young and vibrant, you may want your affairs in order before you die.
Often times, our loved ones have to navigate a messy system of paperwork, ceremony planning, and sorting through belongings while grieving someone who has died. This can get in the way of grief and create lots of complications for all involved. This is where the Planning Ahead services can be helpful.
Planning ahead services include :
-
Legal Documents
Advanced Directives, Power of Attorney, and POLST are important documents to fill out in preparation of advanced illness or even unexpected medical events. I can assist you in finding the right person to help your family with all of your legal document needs. (I have many amazing colleagues that specialize in this)
-
End-of-Life Pre-Arrangements
From burial & disposition choices to planning ceremonies and writing obituaries, there are many things to consider about what happens AFTER you are gone. Some folks like to have a say in these choices or they may want to help ease the work that their loved ones have after their death. Either way, I can help you put these affairs in order before the end.
-
Comfort Plan
A “Comfort Plan” is a document that we will fill out together outlining all of your wishes for the last weeks and days of life (how you would like your environment to look and feel, who you want with you, what are the contingency plans, and overall what will bring you the most comfort and peace of mind for those last days).
-
End-of-Life Wish List
This is a bit like a bucket list, no matter how big or small. I help you to prioritize how you want to spend your last months, weeks, & days. Depending on where you are in your end-of-life journey, we can create a realistic check list of your wishes.
